DGSOM seeks students who will be future leaders, have distinguished careers in clinical practice, teaching, research and public service. The school strives to create an environment in which students prepare for a future in which scientific knowledge, societal values and human needs are ever changing.
Degrees & Programs
UCLA/PRIME: Check my status!
Degrees: MD + Master's
UCLA PRIME is a five-year dual degree program focusing on the development of leaders in medicine addressing policy, care and research in healthcare for the underserved. The dual degree program leads to a MD and a Masters in areas that complement the mission of the program. These might include MBA, MPH or Masters in Public Policy. The cohort will be composed of approximately 18 students. Students will identify with one of two programs: PRIME UCLA Westwood (14) or PRIME UCLA-CDU (4). Each program will coordinate with the others but acceptance will be to UCLA PRIME.

The mission of the College of Medicine is to provide education, research and clinical service in the context of community engagement in order to train physician leaders who promote wellness, who provide care with excellence and compassion and who are committed to transforming the health of diverse and underserved communities. Students matriculate with the David Geffen School of Medicine and complete two years of course work at the UCLA campus.
