Should I apply if my GPA falls slightly below the minimum requirements?
Students who have a GPA that is slightly lower than 2.5 (Freshmen and Sophomores) or 2.8 (for Juniors and Seniors), but have demonstrated a strong interest in Medical or Dental profession, are encouraged to apply.

Can I participate if I am a community college student?
Community college students are eligible for the program if they have not exceeded 60 earned college credits.

Can I participate in PREP if I am a junior or senior in college?
Yes!

Can I participate in PREP more than once?
Students can only participate in the program once.

How many students are accepted into the program each year?
30 Students are accepted to participate every summer.

Will PREP help me prepare for the MCAT, DAT, or other standardized admissions test?
PREP's curriculum covers MCAT/DAT content review and test-taking exposure. 

Do I need to send official transcripts?

Unofficial transcripts are excepted during the application process.  Only admitted students are required to send official transcipts. 

I am a freshman and have not received my grades yet. Can I submit my high school transcript?
High school transcripts are not accepted. If you are a freshman and you have not received your first semester grades, please allow them to be finalized before you submit your transcripts.

If I applied to PREP last year, do I need to submit my transcripts again for PREP?
Yes. PREP requires current transcripts for each application year.

Although I have attended several colleges, all of my coursework appears on my transcript from my current college. Do I still need to send transcripts from all of my previous colleges?
Yes. An official transcript is required from each U.S., U.S. territorial, and Canadian institution at which you have attempted coursework.

Is housing provided for PREP

Housing is not included provided in PREP. Students are responsible in securing their own housing. A list of potential places and website that PREP students in the past have used to secure housing will be emailed to all admitted students during their on-boarding process.

Can I call to obtain information regarding the application status of my son/daughter?
We will only communicate with the student about their application.

Technical Requirements

What are the technical requirements for the application?
The application have been designed to support the following modern desktop browser unless noted otherwise. If you are not currently using a supported browser, it is strongly recommended that you download or upgrade to a supported browser. If you elect not to upgrade your desktop browser, your experience may not be optimal and  you may not be able to use certain tools and applications. In addition, we recommend that you enable JavaScript and, turn off Compatibility View mode (if you are using Internet Explorer).

  • Chrome version 37 or greater
  • Firefox version 32 or greater
  • Safari version 7 or greater
  • Internet Explorer version 11 or greater

I cannot view the application materials. Do I need to purchase special software to view and print these forms?
You can download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader for free to access the editable PDF forms.
