All requests will be reviewed by an advisory committee to the Dean using consistent evaluation criteria that allows for fair prioritization of requests in alignment with the strategic priorities of the DGSOM.
The advisory committee uses the following evaluation criteria:
Requests for Dean’s support for recruitment packages will be considered in a two-step process:
Please note that Research Themes do not at this point in time have their own FTE or recruitment funds.
The Themes provide input on South Tower space assignments and departments are asked, whenever relevant, to include the Themes in faculty searches and have Theme leaders endorse requests for recruitment support. In addition, a separate Theme-centered seed grant and equipment support program is under development, and the Themes may be asked to comment on other departmental requests that are relevant to the mission of a Theme.
Moreover, Theme Leaders may ask for resources for cross-departmental programs, which the relevant Chairs will be asked to endorse.
