Nancy Marks Endowed Chair in Women's Health Research

Nancy and Howard Marks established the Nancy Marks Endowed Chair in Women's Health Research for the vice-chair of women’s health research in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The chair, which is held by Dr. Beth Karlan, helps UCLA lead in women’s health research as she directs investigations.

Wounded Warrior Project

Wounded Warrior Project continued its support of veterans facing traumatic brain injuries, post-traumatic stress disorder, and physical injuries from combat. A grant to Operation Mend allowed UCLA to continue to provide support and care remotely during the pandemic.

UCLA Health Homeless Healthcare Collaborative

Thanks to a variety of donors, UCLA commenced an expanded street medicine project. With two lead gifts of $1 million each from anonymous donors, UCLA Health executed a rollout of two new, fully equipped vans providing primary and preventive care on the streets of Los Angeles and Santa Monica to women, men, children, and families. The fleet plans to expand its care with two new electric vans.

Nancy and Jonathan Glaser Family Endowed Chair for Pediatric Sarcomas

The Nancy and Jonathan Glaser Family Endowed Chair for Pediatric Sarcomas and a pediatric sarcomas research fund will advance research and patient care. This gift was from a longtime volunteer family. Nancy Glaser is a former chair of the board of advisers for the Stewart and Lynda Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA.

Center for Ocular Genetics at the UCLA Stein Eye Institute

UCLA Stein Eye Institute received a $10 million commitment from Dr. Bronwyn Bateman to establish a center for ocular genetics. The gift will support research projects as well as the center’s startup costs and greatest needs. Dr. Bateman is a former DGSOM professor of ophthalmology and pediatrics.
