All applications recieved are reviewed and select applicants are invited to submit a secondary insitutional application. Following comprehensive holistic review of both the application and secondary application, select applicants are then invited to interview.
The interview is an important and integral part of the selection process. It gives the Admissions Committee an opportunity to learn more about the candidate and their ability to be part of the entering class. David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA utilizes the Multiple Mini-Interview process initiated by McMaster University and Traditional Interviews as methods of assessment. Interviews are conducted by faculty, staff and medical students. The interview is but one critical part of the evaluation. Admissions decisions are made by the Admissions Committee after a full review of all information submitted for each applicant.
Candidates selected to interview are invited to campus and are responsible for travel costs. Interviews are typically conducted from August through November or until the class is filled. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic a final determination about travel will be made in advance of the Fall term. Should you require special accommodation in order to participate in admissions interviews, please contact the Admissions Office by email at DGSOMamp@mednet.ucla.edu at least five business days in advance of your scheduled interview day.
