First Steps

1. Primary Financial Aid Steps

  • SIR/SLR completion  
    • To help us process and coordinate your admission and financial aid status, please complete the online Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) and Statement of Legal Residence (SLR) at MyUCLA upon accepting the offer of admission.

February

  • AMCAS Choose Your Medical School Tool - “Plan to Enroll” selection – available 2/19 

March

  • Our Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships will host upcoming Virtual Office Hours to answer your questions. – March 4, 11, 18, 25 | @12-1pm PST

  • The Housing Application for graduate and family housing opens – new opening date: April 29

Visit the UCLA MyHousing website for eligibility, contract rates, and to submit your campus housing application. *Note: you must complete your SIR and SLR prior. 

Complete the following steps to apply for UCLA Graduate Housing:

  1. Submit your housing application at the MyHousing website, and click “Access Housing Application & Offers”.
  2. Pay the non-refundable application fee online
  3. Select either single graduate or family housing.

If you have any questions about campus housing or the application, please contact the Housing Office at uclahousing@housing.ucla.edu.

4/30: “Plan to Enroll” or “Commit to Enroll” are open. Selecting “Commit to Enroll” indicates making a final selection and withdrawing all other applications.

  • Housing Application Deadline – May 11

All housing applications received by May 11 will receive priority consideration for campus housing, although you are not guaranteed your preferred housing choices. Applications received after this date will be placed into a campus housing lottery.

Center for Accessible Education (CAE) – DGSOM Disability Services

The mission of the Center for Accessible Education (CAE) is to create an accessible, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all UCLA student with disabilities. CAE works closely with the DGSOM faculty, staff, and students to determine and implement reasonable accommodations while maintaining student privacy.

Behavioral Wellness Center

Our services are confidential. All contact with the Behavioral Wellness Center is maintained separately from the David Geffen School of Medicine. Students and medical trainees may however request that the Behavioral Wellness Center contact the school of medicine faculty under certain circumstances. In such an event, consent and terms are discussed and agreed upon by the students or medical trainee and his/her treatment team.

 Cost of Services:

Services within the BWC are free for Medical Students and Graduate students. We do request your insurance information to complete the registration process however, insurance is not required to establish services with us.

 Diversity:

The BWC is comprised of a diverse group of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, psychologists and psychotherapists.

 Services Provided:

  • Medication Consultation
  • One-on-One Counseling
  • Connection to community-based services & resources
  • Wellness Resources and Workshops
