David Geffen School of Medicine researchers named among world’s most influential scientists
Fourteen current David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA researchers are among the most influential scientists worldwide in their respective fields, according to an annual list of highly cited researchers.
The compilation by Clarivate Analytics includes more than 4,000 researchers in the sciences and social sciences who have published a high number of papers that rank in the top 1 percent most cited in their respective fields from 2006-2016.
The 2018 Clarivate list seeks to identify “that small fraction of the researcher population that contributes disproportionately to extending the frontier and gaining for society knowledge and innovations that make the world healthier, richer, sustainable, and more secure,” the analytics company said in a white paper.
“We are proud that, once again, so many David Geffen School of Medicine researchers are being recognized for their outstanding contributions in basic biomedical science, clinical research and curing disease with insights that inspire others to build on their work for ultimate benefit to people around the globe,” said Dr. Kelsey Martin, dean of the DGSOM.
