The American Heart Association (AHA) has a long-standing commitment to support the most meritorious and impactful cardiovascular science in the forms of research grants and young investigator fellowships. UCLA is a national leader in cardiovascular medicine and research, and a recipient of AHA funding over many years. At the joint UCLA-AHA Scientific Evening on February 8, 2017, the American Heart Association presented members of the UCLA Cardiovascular Theme a check symbolizing the total funding from the AHA to UCLA cardiovascular investigators in 2016
