I currently serve as core faculty for the geriatric medicine fellowship and coordinate the in-patient geriatrics unit at the West Los Angeles VA, where I also work as a hospitalist. I am passionate about teaching trainees LGBTQ geriatrics, and work with the PRIDE alliance at UCLA for outreach to employees. My interests are largely focused on clinical education of fellows, residents and medical students in the cross section of LGBTQ populations and older adult care.
I am originally from Maryland and attended the University of Maryland for undergraduate. Making my way West, I completed my MD at Northwestern before residency and fellowship at UCLA. I love California for its easy access to nature, as I have taken up backpacking across the West Coast. Most weekends in any given July I will attempt to be in the backcountry by a lake; so far, my favorite trip has been a 6 day sojourn to Deadman’s Canyon, though the Enchanted Valley in Olympic National Park and Painted Brush Canyon in the Grand Tetons favorites are close. I also bike commute daily, enjoy reading fantasy novels, and play in dodgeball and kickball leagues. I am fluent in Spanish and enjoy traveling abroad.
