The shared values of the DGSOM are expressed in the Cultural North Star, which was developed by members of our community and affirms our abiding commitment to doing what’s right, making things better and being kind. These are the standards to which we hold ourselves, and one another.
We are working to infuse every level of our organization with these principles and building a community around the values is our first step.
Cultural North Star Series
Format: Each month, I will meet with eight to 10 members of the DGSOM community. Each one-hour conversation will focus on one of the 12 Cultural North Star purpose statements. The conversations are intended to encourage open and productive dialogue on DGSOM’s culture journey. Participants are encouraged to share opportunities for improvement, success stories, questions and concerns, or any other relevant discussion points.
Participation: To participate, please fill out a brief registration form indicating which session you’re most interested in attending. Of those who register, 10 will be randomly selected to attend each session(s). If selected, you will be notified no later than two weeks prior to the scheduled date.
The annual Family Picnic provides an opportunity for DGSOM faculty, residents, fellows and post-docs to enjoy a family-friendly afternoon with their colleagues, spouses and children. This year, the event will also feature Cultural North Star activities and giveaways.
