The David Geffen School of Medicine Diversity Affairs Office was established in July 2009. Its mission is to foster institutional awareness and commitment toward gender equity and equal opportunity for all and to recruit and retain a diverse faculty.
In addition to our mission regarding faculty, we are committed to celebrating and encouraging the diversity of students, trainees, and staff at the David Geffen School of Medicine. Diversity celebrates the richness of our individual differences whether they are based on gender, race, ethnicity, age, socioeconomic status, language, religion, or abilities. Excellence is achieved through the diversity of thought and opinion that helps eradicate barriers for success, expands research goals, and improves patient care.
