The Carte Blanche Quartet is an ensemble of four enthusiastic young musicians. Lauren, Harry, Mimi and Lukas met playing together in the Orchestra Nova LA (formerly LA doctors symphony orchestra). They quickly bonded through their passion for classical music and particularly their desire to play chamber music. In 2023 they founded the Carte Blanche Quartet, a slightly unusual string quartet featuring two cellos instead of two violins that give the ensemble a full, warm sound with a dark timbre. The Carte Blanche Quartet has devoted much of its attention to the work of the Russian composer Anton Arensky (1861 - 1905). For the Mindful Music Series they will perform Arensky’s String Quartet No. 2 in A minor, Op. 35.
