I currently serve as an Associate Program Director for the Department of Emergency Medicine Residency and a Vice Chair for the Acute Care College of the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. My interests include graduate and undergraduate medical education, curriculum design, and education research and scholarship. I’m originally from Southern California and am happy to be back after spending some time on the East Coast for medical school and residency.
Outside of DGSOM, I enjoy hiking, runs on the beach, and traveling the world with my husband and two children. We are a multilingual household and we are always looking to learn something new.
I enjoy teaching both residents and medical students clinically in our emergency department through our residency training program and clerkships. I also instruct in several courses at DGSOM including Basecamp, Foundations of Practice, Doctoring, Problem Based Learning, Teaching Fellowship, Foundations for Fourth Year and Foundations for Internship. I have lectured extensively nationally at the Council for Residency Directors in Emergency Medicine and the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine Annual Meetings on medical education and education research topics.
