Misty C. Richards, MD, MS

Core Faculty Educator, Scientific Foundations of Medicine

I currently serve as the Program Director for the UCLA Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship and hold a joint appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor in both the UCLA Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. I am passionate about medical education, serving as Block Chair for Medical Neurosciences II prior to holding my current position as a Core Faculty Educator in the Scientific Foundations of Medicine. My interests include medical student and fellow education, perinatal psychiatry, infant mental health with a focus on attachment and collaborative care models.

After spending nearly a decade on the east coast, I moved to Los Angeles for residency and am grateful to call UCLA my professional home. I appreciate the rich diversity and culture here, in addition to restaurants with cuisines from around the world. Outside of DGSOM, I enjoy spending time with my children and can usually be found trying to coach one of them in a sport or chasing them around at a local park.
