Black Lives Matter

Dear DGSOM Community,

In the wake of heavy unrest in Iran, we deeply grieve the recent deaths of many Iranian protestors. Our fellow world citizens, including many academic colleagues and trainees, are risking their lives to advocate for basic human and women’s rights. We echo Vice Chancellor Anna Spain Bradley’s message of support and stand with the community members within DGSOM, as well as the local Westwood community, who are affected by this disturbing situation in many ways.

Please do not hesitate to access local avenues of support if you need them. DGSOM students and trainees may receive counseling services through the Behavioral Wellness Center and/or the UCLA Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). For accommodations related to class attendance or other training, please reach out to your respective society dean or program director. For students impacted financially, please reach out to your respective training program’s financial aid office. Faculty and staff are encouraged to connect with the Staff and Faculty Counseling Center.

Please join us in solidarity with efforts to support our affected colleagues and trainees.

Sincerely,

The Office of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
