Office of Inclusive Excellence Overview
Mission
At its core, our mission is to promote and sustain an inclusive academic environment that reflects and responds to the rich complexity of California. Through education, research, and collaboration, we prepare future clinicians, scientists, and leaders to address the behavioral, biological, and social factors that shape health across our state.
We believe
We believe that the strength of medical education lies in collaboration, inquiry, reflection, and compassion. By fostering environments where ideas and experiences converge, we build a foundation for research, discovery, and care that reflects the people and promise of California.
What is the Office of Inclusive Excellence?
The Office of Inclusive Excellence (OIE) supports institutional excellence across the David Geffen School of Medicine. We collaborate across departments to strengthen the learning environment, enhance faculty and learner development, and advance understanding of the factors that influence health and opportunity across California.
Guided by the Cultural North Star principles—Make Things Better, Be Kind, and Do What’s Right—we foster collaboration, professionalism, and accountability across the academic and clinical enterprise.
