Inclusive Excellence
Commitment to Inclusive Excellence
Our Mission
The Behavioral Wellness Center (BWC) supports the mental health and well-being of David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM) trainees by providing evidence-based clinical services, education, and resources that foster a respectful, supportive, and professional clinical environment for all trainees. Our primary focus is on advancing high-quality mental health care and professional growth within the rigorous context of medical training.
What We Believe
We believe that exceptional mental health care is delivered in environments where individuals feel respected, safe, and able to pursue their professional goals without fear of discrimination or bias. The BWC is committed to treating each person with dignity and equity, ensuring that all trainees, regardless of background, have access to confidential support and resources that promote emotional well-being, resilience, and professional success.
Community Respect and Collaboration
The BWC values and respects the diverse experiences of the trainees we serve. While we do not engage in advocacy or policy work, we work collaboratively with campus partners and trainee organizations to ensure that our services, referrals, and programming are responsive to the professional development and well-being needs of trainees. We strive to create an environment where individuals feel supported and empowered in their training and clinical work.
