Effect of Metformin on Overweight/Obese Patients

You may be eligible if you are: 

  • 18 years of age or older
  •  Have a BMI of ≥ 27 kg/m2
  • Have waist circumference ≥ 40’’ for males and 35’’ for females

Your participation will last 28 weeks with 6 clinic visits and 4 tele visits. The first visit is a screening visit to ensure you are eligible for the study. Visits include blood tests, body weight, surveys, and diet assessment and diet counseling. This is a randomized study, where you will be assigned to one of two groups. You will have a 1 in 2 chance of being assigned to the medication or the control group.
   
You will be paid up to $350 for your participation.
