Dr. Wang is a physician-scientist who specializes in cardiovascular genetics. Her research program aims to understand how genetic variation contributes to cardiovascular health. Using a mouse model, she has implicated dozens of genetic loci (including genes Mlip, Abcc6, Myh14 and Adamts2) in cardiac remodeling. Her current research includes translational approaches for studying inherited cardiomyopathies. She is the Director of the UCLA Cardiovascular Genetics Clinic and the Principal Investigator of the UCLA Inherited Cardiovascular Disease Registry that archives data and tissues for novel gene discovery and assessment of variant pathogenicity.
