Diana Alzate grew up in a suburb of Chicago, IL, and graduated from Northeastern Illinois University in 2017 with a BS in Biology. Diana worked as a Genetic Counseling Assistant at Reproductive Genetic Innovations, a preimplantation genetic testing laboratory, for 2.5 years. While there, she worked on a research project about non-disclosure Preimplantation Genetic Testing and had her abstract and poster accepted at the 2019 National Society of Genetic Counselors Conference. Her passion for helping others and providing support led her to volunteer at The Douglas Center, a day-time facility for adults with special needs, and as a crisis counselor at Crisis Textline. Diana has extensive experience as a bilingual community educator, focusing on financial assistance programs for a major electric utility company. As a native Spanish-speaker, she is excited to practice her Spanish in a clinical setting in the greater Los Angeles area. In her free time, Diana enjoys trying new cuisines and watching psychological thrillers!
