Wilbur S. Schwartz MD Prize for Kindness, Compassion, and Humanity

Wilbur S. Schwartz MD was a member of UCLA's first medical residency class. As a physician whose practice covered much of the Los Angeles area, he was known for his leadership in the community, for his compassion as a physician, and for his philanthropic deeds.

The UCLA Dr. Wilbur Schwartz Prize is awarded on an annual basis to a physician at the DGSOM who has demonstrated to her or his patients and to fellow physicians at the DGSOM the qualities of extraordinary kindness, compassion and humanity in her or his delivery of medical service and treatment for which Dr. Wilbur Schwartz was known.
