Fourth-year medical student Leilani Gutierrez-Palominos was presented with the 2024 Excellence in Public Health Award from the U.S. Public Health Service Physician Professional Advisory Committee by Lieutenant Commander Rumany Penn, PharmD, BCSCP, during Scholarship Day. The national award recognizes medical students who are public health champions, advancing the USPHS mission to protect, promote, and advance the health and safety of our nation, and who are addressing public health issues in their community.
