Uchiyama is a UCLA-Caltech Medical Scientist Training Program student currently pursuing a PhD in Peter Tontonoz's lab, studying lipid metabolism in liver physiology.
This award is given to a medical student who has demonstrated outstanding achievement and great aptitude in pathology and laboratory medicine.
