As a Los Angeles native, Andrea is excited to join UCLA's inaugural genetic counseling class. She comes to the genetic counseling field after a career working in business and technology, where she built partnerships with companies like Apple and Amazon. Andrea's decision to make a career change into genetic counseling stems from her deep experience working with people with disabilities. She looks forward to merging her technology background with the fast-evolving genetic counseling field. In her spare time, she is learning the ins and outs of being a new dog parent, having recently rescued a very stubborn Jindo-Corgi mix. Andrea holds degrees from Georgetown University (BS in Foreign Service), UC Santa Barbara (MS in Environmental Science) and Harvard Business School (MBA).
