Esmeralda Trejo is the Project Director for the HRSA funded UCLA Underrepresented Minorities in Medicine Center of Excellence (UIM-COE). She graduated from Claremont McKenna College with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology-Chemistry. She completed her Master of Science degree in Higher Education at California State University, Fullerton. She previously held the position of Assistant Director for the UCR School of Medicine Pathway Programs. While at UCR, she cultivated partnerships with local Riverside and San Bernardino County community college and high school students. Her passion includes supporting first-generation college students and increasing the number of underrepresented minority students in the STEM fields. A native of Riverside County, she understands the importance of higher education and supporting future healthcare professionals from underserved communities.
