Luis Torres, MS, CGC is a genetic counselor board certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling and licensed to practice in California. He received both his MS degree in Genetic Counseling and his BS degree in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics from UCLA. Prior to his graduate training, he worked as a Learning Facilitator providing tutoring and mentorship to undergraduate students in life sciences. As part of his graduate program, he focused his capstone research on better understanding potential biases towards genetic counselors and considerations to increase diversity in the genetic counseling profession- a topic he continues to be passionate about today. At UCLA, Luis specializes in prenatal and reproductive genetics providing genetic counseling services to individuals and couples who are currently pregnant or planning a pregnancy.
