Matteo Pellegrini, PhD
Chair, Computational & Systems Biology; Director, Institute for Genomics and Proteomics; Professor, Medicine, Molecular, Cell & Developmental Biology, and Human Genetics
About
Dr. Pellegrini is a computational biologist and biophysicist. He holds three appointments at UCLA, Professor DGSOM in the Departments of Human Genetics and Medicine, UCLA Life Sciences Division in the Department of Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology, and the California NanoSystems Institute (CNSI). He is the Director of the QCB Collaboratory that runs data analysis workshops and consultations and is also Director of the Computational Biology Interdepartmental Program. His laboratory research centers on the development of novel computational approaches to reverse engineer biomolecular networks and interpret genomic data.
The UCLA-DOE Institute for Genomics and Proteomics brings frontier research efforts to bear on key scientific mission areas for the U.S. Department of Energy. Over its history, the IGP has led many scientific developments, with discoveries and technological innovations impacting the DOE, the U.S. National Laboratories, and the broader scientific community.
