Stephen Cederbaum, MD is emeritus faculty in the Departments of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences, Pediatrics, and Human Genetics at UCLA. He has been practicing medical genetics for over 50 years with a special interest in inborn errors of metabolism and newborn screening, particularly disorders of the urea cycle. He has studied these disorders in the patients and in animal models, using various forms of gene and mRNA therapy. More recently he has emphasized the pre-symptomatic DNA screening of individuals at risk for late onset autosomal dominant disorders.
