Healthy Volunteers: Ferumoxytol-Enhanced Cardiac MRI Research Study
Ferumoxytol-Enhanced Cardiac MRI for Ischemic Heart Disease
The Cardiovascular Imaging Research Lab at UCLA is recruiting healthy male or female volunteers for our study “Ferumoxytol-Enhanced Cardiac MRI for Ischemic Heart Disease”
What is the purpose of this study?
The purpose of this study is to test an imaging tool that can detect the blood supply to the heart muscle tissue without requiring radiation. The tool uses intravenous iron (which is required for many vital biologic processes in the body) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Am I eligible to participate in this study?
- 18 years or older
- All gender and ethnicities welcome
- Not pregnant
- No claustrophobia (fear of tight spaces)
- No history of iron overload
- No allergies to intravenous iron
- No history of cardiovascular illness:
- No heart attack
- No coronary bypass
- No arrhythmias
If I choose to participate in the study, what should I expect?
- Once you contact our lab, meet the criteria, and choose to participate, you will be asked to undergo a ferumoxytol cardiac stress MRI.
- Your participation will involve only a single visit.
- The study will take place at UCLA.
Compensation
- You will receive a $150 gift card for study completion.
- Free parking will be provided.
