Clinical trial readiness in neurodevelopmental disorders
Genetic testing in neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs), such as autism, has facilitated connection to patient advocacy groups, better clinical monitoring and prognostication, and the potential for targeted treatments. Ultimately, genetics has paved the way for precision health in NDDs, giving families hope for improved developmental outcomes. We will discuss the challenges faced in clinical trial design and implementation in these genetic conditions and then introduce a new initiative called ARIA (Aligning Research to Impact Autism) that will greatly accelerate progress in trial readiness in NDDs.
