ENACT Network Grand Rounds with Elaine Morrato

The UCLA Clinical and Translational Science Institute invites the research community to join for the ENACT Grand Rounds, a monthly seminar series hosted by the ENACT Network, a collaborative initiative within the CTSA program that empowers researchers to leverage real-world data (RWD) and generate real-world evidence (RWE). The ENACT Network connects researchers with cutting-edge tools, resources, and expertise, enabling innovative approaches to solving translational science challenges. By promoting Open Science and Data Sharing, ENACT fosters collaboration and accelerates the advancement of scientific discovery and translational research.
With AI advancements and increased computing power, electronic phenotyping is evolving into precision phenotyping, which uses EHR data to define personalized phenotypes. The ENACT network supports this shift with interoperable informatics for distributed learning and algorithm deployment. This presentation explores how precision phenotyping algorithms in ENACT can be used to create highly specific research cohorts for complex chronic conditions. By integrating algorithmic precision and collaborative infrastructure, this approach offers new avenues for targeted clinical studies and advances in translational research.
Keynote speaker:
Elaine Morrato, DrPH MPH FISPE CPH
Professor and Dean of the Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health
Loyola University Chicago
About the seminars
Expert speakers from across the CTSA Consortium and beyond will guide discussions on a range of impactful topics, including:
- Beyond the Grant: Lessons learned on maintaining momentum and impact when funding is reduced or paused.
- Implementation Science in Action: A review of key principles essential for keeping Real World Data research networks strong and effective.
- CTSA Alignment: Direct focus on addressing goals from the CTSA PAR (specificity) programs to ensure long-term relevance and resilience.
- Navigating Change: Insights into how networks can adapt in a constantly shifting research environment.
