Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Psychiatric Disorders
Paolo Brambilla, MD, PhD
To close out our 2024 season, in our sixth lecture-- a special THURSDAY lecture—our speaker will be one of the World’s leading mental health authorities, Dr. Paolo Brambilla. Dr. Brambilla brings decades of experience as a clinical psychiatrist, as a mentor and instructor of psychiatric residents and fellows, and in leadership and administration of mental health care facilities. He is also a global leader in psychiatric neuroimaging research with a long track record (~800 publications!) of health-care relevant contributions on pediatric and adult bipolar disorder, unipolar depression, anxiety disorders, early and prodromal psychotic disorders, autistic spectrum disorders, cannabis use, and many more conditions. Among other neuroimaging modalities, he has worked extensively with diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), structural MRI, resting-state fMRI (rsfMRI), and, of course, magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS). Dr. Brambilla will share with us key findings and perspectives on MR neuroimaging gained from a long and fruitful career as an avant-garde psychiatric clinician and researcher.
