Course Title and Date Update Information:
The session previously titled Timely Hospital Discharge, originally scheduled for May 14, has been rescheduled and renamed. The updated session, now titled "Enabling Hospital Capacity and Flow," will take place on June 4 from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM.
Participants who previously registered for the in-person option will be contacted individually regarding their options.

About the Statistical Process Control: Using Data for Improvement Education Series
University of California Health’s mission is to improve the health of Californians now and in the future by promoting health equity across the state and expanding access to care. This series shows how to learn from variation to improve health care processes and systems. Live and recorded sessions provide a practical understanding and skills for using Statistical Process Control (SPC) as a foundation for the learning health system.

Live Session Four: Enabling Hospital Capacity and Flow
The theme of this live session focuses on how to operationalize and intervention on flow delays and flow failures. Specific SPC topics include charts for attribute data (P chart, C chart), charts for continuous data (X-bar and S charts), charts for rare events (G chart and T chart), charts for large denominators (prime charts), calculating process capability, funnel charts, implementing the Drill Down pathway, use of a family of measures, and best practices in SPC dashboards including filters and options.
Recorded Modules
This education series includes 12 recorded modules, 10-40 min each, broken down by topic for ease of viewing. Modules are delivered via a streaming platform in the optimal format for your electronic devices.
Recorded sessions on the foundations and methods for learning from variation, covering SPC fundamentals and practical applications. All professionals can access the recorded modules; however, CME credits are not provided. For more information, contact ucph@ucop.edu.
