UCLA Interdisciplinary Training Program in Metabolism
NIDDK Postdoctoral T32 - Application Deadline May 15
The University of California, Los Angeles Interdisciplinary Training Program in Metabolism (ITPM) Postdoctoral T32, supported by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), invites applications from highly motivated and competitive postdoctoral fellows seeking advanced, cross-disciplinary training in metabolism that aligns with the research mission of the NIDDK — to conduct and support medical research and research training and to disseminate science-based information on diabetes and other endocrine and metabolic diseases; digestive diseases, nutritional disorders, and obesity; and kidney, urologic, and hematologic diseases, to improve people’s health and quality of life.
The ITPM was designed to foster innovative research at the intersection of molecular, cellular, and systems metabolism, and to support the development of future leaders in academia, industry, translational sciences, and medicine.
Eligibility & Application Requirements
Applicants must hold an MD and or PhD and submit the following materials as a combined single PDF by midnight of the UCLA due date 5/15/26:
• Cover letter including applicant and mentor(s) names, department/division/research unit, years of fellowship participation since first appointment, and the project title
• A one-page Specific Aims document outlining the proposed research project
• NIH-format Biosketches for both the applicant and the primary mentor (old format acceptable)
Funding & Support
• Stipend: Commensurate with NIH guidelines and years of postdoctoral experience
• Three research fellowships are currently available
• Research Supply Allowance: Up to $12,400 per year
• Travel Support: Up to $1,000 per year to attend a scientific meeting
• Fellowship position is renewable based upon productivity and commitment to ITPM goals
