Mindful Music Series

9 Ball is a UCLA alternative rock band that is largely influenced and inspired by The Sundays and Radiohead. Met in the spring of 2025, Fiona Kuo (vocals/rhythm guitar), James Blue (lead guitar), Aiden Cheung (drums), Jai Raman (keys/saxophone), and Leo Ellsworth (bass), soonly discovered their shared interest in jazz and alternative rock, leading to weekly jam sessions in the Schoenberg practice rooms. After 9 Ball's debut show in May, members gradually shifted from covering tunes to writing their own songs, including Nothing to Lose and Cardiff by the Sea. The band is planning to release its first EP soon.
