Academic Performance Committee (APC)

What is the Academic Performance Committee (APC)?

Course and clerkship chairs for key curricular elements constitute the relevant Academic Performance Committee.   The committee’s charge is to monitor student performance and assist students with academic and professional issues. All APC’s report to the Committee on Academic Standing Progress and Promotion (CASPP) and are responsible for developing individualized remediation plans for students with deficiencies in meeting DGSOM academic performance, professionalism, or technical standards. Each committee is chaired by a faculty member who has been appointed by the Vice Dean for Education. The current DGSOM academic performance committees are: 

  • Phase 1 - Pre-Clerkship Academic Performance Committee
  • Phase 2 - Clerkship Academic Performance Committee
  • Phase 3 - Academic Performance Committee
