Joint Seminars in Neuroscience Series
"Circadian Clocks and Alzheimer’s Disease"
In-Person
Hosted by: Brain Research Institute
Abstract: Circadian rhythms impact many aspects of brain function and are disrupted in aging and neurodegenerative disease such as Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). This lecture will first explore the impact of AD pathology on circadian clock functions in different brain cell types in mouse models and humans. Next, I will examine the impact of cellular and environmental disruption of circadian clock function on different aspects of AD pathology in mouse models. Finally, I will discuss emerging therapeutic strategies targeting the circadian clock with a goal of preventing AD.
