About
Born in Washington state, Jacqueline grew up in the greater Seattle area and graduated from the University of Washington with a BS in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology in 2023. Her long-held interest in science and scientific communication, alongside her strong desire to make a positive impact on the broader community, led her to pursue a career in genetic counseling. As an undergraduate, she led a research team at Seattle Children’s Hospital, investigating potential treatments for chronic nonbacterial osteomyelitis. She also served as a lead toy adapter, modifying toys to make them accessible to individuals with disabilities with the University of Washington’s HuskyADAPT organization. Post graduation, she joined Northwest Women's Healthcare as a Patient Service Representative, serving the diverse Seattle community. Jacqueline’s experiences have also further fostered her passion for healthcare accessibility. She aims to empower patients to make informed health decisions through education, help patients navigate difficult decisions, and improve healthcare accessibility, literacy, and equity among ethnic minorities. Jacqueline is excited to continue her journey at UCLA and looks forward to learning from its multitude of perspectives. In her free time, Jacqueline enjoys pottery, crafting, and spending time with family and friends.
