First Time at the BWC
DGSOM Medical students and DGSOM Graduate Students in the Biosciences are eligible for services at the BWC. UCLA Medical Residents and Fellows with Anthem House Staff Insurance are also eligible for services.

DGSOM medical students and DGSOM graduate students receive our services free of charge. Residents and Fellows are responsible for a $15 copay per visit.
The BWC offers a short-term therapy treatment model based on clinical need among other factors, to DGSOM medical and DGSOM graduate students. House Staff clients are eligible to receive additional therapy sessions as needed.
There are no sessions limits for medication management.
During the intake appointment, the BWC clinician will conduct a diagnostic interview in order to gather more information about you and to gain a better understanding of your needs. This is a telehealth appointment and will run 40-45 minutes.

Behavioral Wellness Center Crisis Support is available 24 hours by calling the main office line: (310) 825-9605. All new clients to the BWC must first complete an intake appointment prior to being connected to any of our services.

If you are an existing BWC client, please email us at bwc@mednet.ucla.edu and provide us with the following:
- Medication name
- Medication dosage
- Preferred pharmacy with address and phone number
Refill requests received after-hours or during the weekend will be addressed on the next business day. Medication refills may also be requested through myUCLAhealth and/or the MyChart app.
At this time, Residents and Fellows are eligible for couples counseling at the BWC.
Yes. Prior to meeting with a clinician for ADHD Testing, you will first need to complete an intake and initial interview with BWC providers.
During this 20-30 mminute appointment, you will meet with a clinician to review the process of connecting with a community provider. Case-management appointments are free of charge to all BWC clients.
Telehealth (video) visits are conducted either through the MyChart application, or Zoom. You will be informed of which platform to use when your appointment is confirmed. If the appointment is over Zoom, you will receive the Zoom Meeting ID by email, or via a MyChart message. If the appointment is a MyChart video visit, please connect using the MyChart app. For more information on how to connect to a MyChart video visit, click here.

Yes. We can provide you with a private space for your telehealth appointment during our office hours. Please email bwc@mednet.ucla.edu or call us at (310) 825-9605 to request a private space.

Billing & Insurance
If you are a DGOMS medical or graduate student and have received a bill for services, please email us at bwc@mednet.ucla.edu and provide the following information:
- Service date
- Provider name
- Amount
Once we have this information, we will work with the billing department to reverse the charges.
No, however we ask you to provide your UC-SHIP eligibility and UID for internal purposes only.
Please email the GME Office at gme@mednet.ucla.edu to request your Member ID. The GME office will be able to provide you with a digital copy of your Anthem Insurance card, usually within the same business day of your request.
Other
Yes. As long as you are located in the state of California during a leave of absence, you are still eligible for services.
Due to state law and California Board of Psychology and Board of Behavioral Sciences restrictions, you can only connect with your provider if you are currently located in the state of California.
If your preferred email address is a non-mednet email, we will need to correspond with you securely, which means that you will need to log into UCLA Health's secure message portal to read/retrieve the message.
