Brianna Bolanos, MS
Master's Alum
About
Brianna grew up in Albuquerque, NM and graduated from Stanford University in 2017, where she received her bachelor's degree in Human Biology. As an undergraduate, she supported students on campus as a peer counselor and volunteered as a health educator for the Pacific Free Clinic. She also enjoyed working as a student teacher and research assistant at the Bing Nursery School, through Stanford's Department of Developmental Psychology. She gained clinical experience by obtaining her EMT certification and later became a teaching assistant for the EMT training course at Stanford. After graduating, Brianna worked as a patient advocate for a health-tech company called Collective Health, where she helped people navigate their health insurance benefits and access medical care. She later worked as a clinical research coordinator and then joined the Data Science team at a pediatric behavioral health company called Cognoa, where she supported the development of digital diagnostic and therapeutic tools for children with autism and other behavioral health conditions. Most recently, Brianna obtained her MPH in Epidemiology from the SUNY Downstate School of Public Health and focused her research on the socioeconomic factors and healthcare access barriers that influence the occurrence of adverse pregnancy outcomes. Brianna is excited about advancing the intersection of genetics and public health and aims to help expand access to genetic counseling services in underserved populations. In her free time, Brianna enjoys attending concerts and live music events, taking care of her two cats, and also won't pass up the opportunity to try a new coffee shop!
