Diana Aguilar-Gómez is a UC Mexus Alianza and Chancellor's Postdoctoral Fellow with interest in genomics, evolutionary biology, conservation and population genetics. Diana is interested in how evolutionary forces shape genomes in changing environments, particularly in small and isolated populations. She is currently working with primates to understand sex chromosome evolution and karyotype evolution in howler monkeys (Alouatta). Her past work includes conservation genomics of critically endangered species such as Rice's whales and Florida panthers, as well as research on the genetic basis of coloration in poison frogs (Oophaga pumilio).
