Giverny grew up in the vineyard-filled hills of Livermore, California. As a child, she loved to draw characters, make family trees, and play the Sims. To her, these were ways to study hereditary patterns before she even knew they existed. Later, she pursued a B.S. in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology at UCLA. During undergrad, Giverny was especially passionate about LGBTQ+ rights in academics and healthcare.

After graduation, Giverny worked at USC Keck School of Medicine. She helped design therapeutic tests for 80+ compounds in Myotonic Dystrophy patient cells. After this, she became a genetic counseling assistant at UCLA Health Clinical Genetics. During this time, she was also a team lead for Planned Parenthood Federation of America. In this role, she presented ways to access abortion and reproductive care nationwide.

Giverny feels fortunate to return as a Bruin, this time in a graduate setting. She wants to focus on consenting techniques for non-traditional families. She also hopes to make new friends and connections. In her free time, Giverny still plays the Sims, and also enjoys cosplaying, reading, and baking.
