Originally from Denver, Colorado, Kelley graduated from Pomona College in 2025 with a B.A. in Biology. Her longstanding interest in public health and advancing health equity for underserved communities inspired her to pursue a career in genetic counseling.

In college, Kelley led a social health screening program at ParkTree Community Health Center in Pomona, CA, that focused on minimizing food insecurity. She also served as a Health Advocate for Health Bridges, a student-run nonprofit in Claremont, CA, where she contributed to various community outreach initiatives throughout the Inland Empire. Beyond her community engagement, Kelley developed a strong interest in personalized medicine and translational science while conducting pediatric sarcoma gene-therapy cancer research at the University of Colorado-Anschutz. She also interned at The Jackson Laboratory, investigating differentiation behaviors of early gestation placental trophoblast cells. Both experiences inspired Kelley to explore how emerging genomic technologies and services are translated into clinical care, particularly for historically underrepresented patient populations.

During her post-grad gap year, Kelley worked on Ambry Genetics' Genomic Science Team and interned at the Los Angeles General Medical Center's Cancer Genetics Clinic, where she had the opportunity to shadow Spanish-speaking genetic counselors serving predominantly Latino patients. Engaging with both the clinical and industry settings of genomic diagnostic care strengthened her commitment to advancing equitable genetic care and reinforced her passion for genetic counseling. As she begins her graduate training, Kelley looks forward to continuing to advocate for culturally responsive clinical care.

Outside of school, she enjoys napping on the beach, baking sweet treats, and spending quality time with friends.
