Lili grew up in Sharon, Massachusetts located outside of Boston. She attended Union College in Schenectady, New York where she double majored in Neuroscience and Spanish. During her time at Union College, Lili conducted research examining the relationship between bilingualism and creativity. She also prioritized volunteering at COCOA House where she participated in afterschool activities designed for local youth. Following her graduation, Lili worked in the D’Gama Lab at Boston Children’s Hospital where she enrolled families for genetic testing studies. In her role there, she focused on neurogenetics, specifically infants with epilepsy. Aside from enrollment, Lili also analyzed genomic data to identify disease causing variants. Having the opportunity to participate in many visits with interpreters inspired her to advocate for equitable healthcare and highlighted the importance of clear communication between patients, families, and providers. Lili is excited to be a part of the UCLA Genetic Counseling Program where she hopes to hone her skills and grow to become a compassionate provider. In her free time, Lili enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, and yoga.
