About
Morgan grew up in the suburbs of Chicago for most of her life. She attended Arizona State University, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Genetics, Cell Biology, and Developmental Biology. During her undergraduate studies, Morgan conducted computational research on genes contributing to sex-specific hepatocellular carcinoma tumor samples. This experience emphasized the importance of early intervention and inspired her to pursue a career focused on prevention. She also prioritized volunteering at Ryan House, a children’s respite and hospice care facility. After earning her degree, Morgan worked as a Registered Behavior Technician, implementing behavior intervention plans for young autistic children. These experiences taught her the value of compassionate care and solidified her commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (J.E.D.I.). Morgan is eager to continue her journey at UCLA, where she hopes to explore how genetic counseling can be made more accessible to underrepresented populations, including individuals from low-income backgrounds, those with developmental disabilities, and marginalized ethnic and racial groups. In her free time, Morgan enjoys arts and crafts, hiking, thrifting, cooking, and spending time with friends. She is proud to become a Bruin and excited to help transform genetic counseling into a truly inclusive field.
