About
Victoria is a Southern California native, growing up in the San Gabriel Valley. She attended the University of California, Riverside (UCR) and graduated in 2022 with a B.S. in biology and a minor in psychology. While at UCR, she found herself in mentoring roles for first-generation and low-income students through the Mentor Collective and as an academic mentor for the TRIO Scholars program.
After graduation, she gained experience working alongside students with autism and disabilities as a behavior interventionist in special education classrooms. That further shaped her purpose of increasing health literacy in underserved communities. She worked as a genetic counseling assistant at UCLA Health's cancer genetics clinic, where she communicated with patients to increase genetic testing uptake for patients with cancer as part of the GENETECATM program. Victoria is excited to transition into a new role at UCLA as a student and integrating her purpose into the profession of genetic counseling.
