Overview
Dr. Eghbali (PI) and Dr. Cannesson (co-PI) from the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine received T32 Research Training Grant from the NIH (GM148369). This T32 training program is specifically designed to train the next generation of academic anesthesiologists early in their careers in basic, preclinical, and clinical research to become independent physician-scientists in the field of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine.
They have recruited 27 exceptional faculty members as mentors (13 PhD scientists and 14 physician-scientists) from the Departments of Anesthesiology, Medicine, Bioengineering, Surgery, Physiology, Pathology, Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology, Computer Science, Human Genetics, Biomathematics, and Integrative Biology. Thirteen of these faculty are from the Cardiovascular Research Theme (Drs. Bostrom, Cai, Deb, Demer, Eghbali, Rajesh Kumar, Nakano, Olcese, Ottolia, Shivkumar, Tsiai, Vondriska, and Umar).
