Dr. Kandel received the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine in 2000. He also has been honored with the prestigious Albert Lasker Award for Basic Medical Research; the Heineken Prize for Medicine; the Canada Gairdner Award; the Harvey Prize and the Wolf Prize of Israel; and the National Medal of Science for Biological Sciences, an honor bestowed by the President of the United States. He has received 23 honorary degrees, is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, a fellow of the Royal Society of London, a member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, French Academy of Sciences, German National Academy of Sciences, and Academy of Athens.

Kelsey C. Martin, MD, PhD

Dr. Martin is a world-renowned neuroscientist whose lab integrates molecular cell biological, electrophysiological, and next-generation genomic approaches to understand how experience changes brain connectivity to store long-term memories. Outside of UCLA, Dr. Marin is a Senior Fellow at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Janelia Research Campus. She serves on the editorial board of Cell, the board of directors of the Burroughs Wellcome Fund, the board of directors of the McKnight Endowment Fund for Neuroscience, and is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the National Academy of Medicine. In 2017, Dr. Marin was appointed by California Governor Jerry Brown as co-chair of the Governor's Advisory Committee on Precision Medicine.

Kerry Tribe's work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; 356 Mission, Los Angeles; the Institute of Modern Art, Brisbane, Australia; The Power Plant, Toronto; Modern Art Oxford, Oxford, U.K.; and Camden Arts Centre, London. It has been included in significant group exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York; the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, D.C. Tribe is the recipient of the Herb Alpert Award in the Arts, a Creative Capital grant, and a United States Artists award. Her work is in the public collections of MoMA, the Whitney, the Hammer, and the Generali Foundation, among others.
