Global Health Seed Grant Program awards four DGSOM faculty advancing health research worldwide
The Global Health Seed Program provides essential grant funding to support faculty-led global health research in middle- and low-income countries since 2019. The program, which is a collaborative initiative between the DGSOM Global Health Program and UCLA Health International Services, aims to advance impactful research, strengthen long-term international partnerships and support the development of future global health investigators at both UCLA and partner institutions.
In each funding cycle, the Global Health Seed Grant projects have advanced practical, locally grounded solutions to health challenges worldwide—from HIV prevention, maternal and child health, and tuberculosis care to mental health, cardiac screening, and digital health innovation. These initiatives have spanned Africa, Asia, and Latin America, generating applied evidence and partnerships that inform care delivery and future health system improvements.
