Dean's List: A Few Things to Know in April

This month we are pleased to highlight several significant accomplishments from across our DGSOM community.

Match Day at Geffen Hall was a rewarding and memorable occasion. Our students learned where they will continue their journey as physicians and celebrated surrounded by family and friends. The impressive Match results reflect their unwavering commitment and resilience which is a testament to their strength and dedication.

We also celebrate outstanding achievements of our faculty. Dr. Owen Witte has received the prestigious Harrington Prize for Innovation in Medicine in recognition of his groundbreaking contributions to cancer research.

Six of our respected physician-scientists, including Hrishikesh S. Kulkarni, MD, MS; Folasade May, MD, PhD; Philip O. Scumpia, MD; Marmar Vaseghi, MD, PhD; Jonathan D. Herman, MD, PhD; and Jason Hong, MD, PhD, have been honored by the American Society for Clinical Investigation, highlighting the national impact of their work in advancing medical knowledge.

Dr. K. Elliott Higgins III, MD, has received a grant from the Society for Education in Anesthesia to support his innovative efforts in creating more effective and inclusive learning environments for future anesthesiologists.

These significant achievements exemplify the dedication to the pursuit of excellence that defines our DGSOM community. Together, our students, trainees, and faculty are expanding the boundaries of medical science while upholding our commitment to compassionate and skilled patient care.
